Laboratory Code Design

Design review and hazardous zone classification for compliant, efficient laboratories to AS/NZS 2982.

Laboratories are workplaces in which inherently dangerous activities occur. The design of workplaces can go a long way towards providing health and safety for users. For general laboratories this can be achieved by compliance with the design recommendations of the Laboratory Code AS/NZS 2982. The prescriptive zones described in AS/NZS 60079.10.1 classify the hazardous zones around the storage and reticulation of flammable gases and liquids.

Salus Risk can assist by reviewing a laboratory design for compliance with the Laboratory Code or assisting the designers to create an efficient and compliant laboratory.
